Urban Village Heads in Tanah Abang Asked to Take Care of Pump Houses

Central Jakarta Mayor, Bayu Meghantara instructs urban village heads in Tanah Abang to assist Water Resources (SDA) Sub-dept. to ensure water pump house free of trash during rainy season.

"We have asked SDA Sub-dept. and local urban village apparatuses to take care of pump houses and prevent it from waste," he stated, Tuesday (10/24).

W. Jakarta Mayor to Check Readiness of Water Pump

According to him, West Flood Canal (KBB) stream that flows through Petamburan should be functioned optimally when heavy rain falls. As well as Ciliwung Lama River.

"When Ciliwung Lama River is unable to hold water, then we need to flow water to KBB. It means, we need to ensure pump house can be functioned well," he mentioned.

Related to this case, Central Jakarta SDA Sub-dept. Head, Dicky Suherlan admitted, his side has instructed SDA Unit Head to coordinate with urban village apparatuses.

"We will prepare our personnel to look after pump houses. Including asking for urban village personnel assistance to handle waste," he conveyed.
